Local Authorities Seeking Publics Help on Double Murder

Published on July 26, 2013 by Larry Crippen

Authorities are seeking the help of the public for any information regarding Wednesday’s double murder in Huntsville.

Dead are 55-year-old Shanta Faye Crawford, and her grandson, 18-month-old Aiyden Benjamin Lewis. Shanta Crawford’s husband, Robert, discovered the bodies of his wife and the child at their home around five in the afternoon Wednesday.

The two were found dead in different rooms in the home–Shanta in the kitchen and Aiyden in the bathroom. The victims have been taken to a medical examiner’s office.

The Sheriff’s Office brought in the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Crime Scene Investigation Unit to use a camera system that can process an animated version of the crime scene.

The Sheriff’s Office, DPS, and the Texas Rangers have been in the process of determining suspects. Although they could not release a lot of information, Sheriff McCrae asked for the help of the public at a press conference at the Storm Shelter Thursday . . . .
