The City of Huntsville Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 5:30 this afternon for a public hearing to consider an amendment to the Huntsville Development Code, Chapter 11, on Sign Standards, regarding a section on height limitations and measurements.
The commission may also recommend amending the Code restricting the height of business signs on I-45.
The commission may also give approval to a subdvision plat to separate the 4.8 acres of land between the Military Reserve Building and Fire Station #2 on Sam Houston Avenue. This is the property that has recently been a matter of contention in a legal issue between Maloouf Properties and SHSU. The commission may divide the land into two lots and a small portion of the land may be dedicated for a right-of-way on Avenue J.
