TDCJ Fallen Officer Memorial Service

Published on May 13, 2013 by Larry Crippen

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice held a Memorial Service for Fallen Officers at the HEARTS Veterans Center Complex Friday.

They performed the annual exercises of remembrance like the Lighting of the Memorial Candle, the Riderless Horse, the Bell Toll, a 21-Gun Salute, and the “Missing Officer” Table Presentation.

The ceremony’s keynote speaker was Texas Board of Criminal Justice Member R. Terrell McCombs . . . .

The Memorial Service is held in recognition of the ultimate sacrifice that correctional employees all across the nation have paid for the safety and well-being of others.
