The Huntsville City Council met last night. A major focus for discussion was the budget and tax rate.
City Manager Matt Benoit went over the tax rate proposal . . . .
Position #1 Councilmember Andy Brauninger raised his concern regarding the proposed budget . . . .
City Manager Benoit commented on Brauninger’s comments . . .
Mr. Brauninger also commented that after talking with library staff that they needed more part-time help and that it possibly be provided for in the budget. Mayor Woodward recommended that a full-time position be looked into for the budget regarding the addition of a library position.
There will be budget hearings for public input in the future. Following those meetings and any input for changes from councilmembers, the budget and tax rate would be adopted at the September 16th council meeting.
