The Huntsville City Council will meet for their main session tonight at six at City Hall.
At four this afternoon, there will be a workshop to discuss purchasing policy and expanding the City Manager’s ability to amend the budget. At 5:15 PM, there will be a public reception to celebrate graduating seniors who are children of City employees and recipients of Employee Scholarship Fund grants supplied through employee donations.
At the main council session tonight, there will be a presentation of Employee Scholarship recipients.
Tonight’s “Consent Agenda” includes a request from the YMCA for a waiver of plumbing permit fees at 2906 Old Houston Road.
Tonight’s “Statutory Agenda” includes possible action on awarding a contract for Construction Manager at Risk Services for the Community Safe Room, authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement and lease with the Boys and Girld Club of Walker County for the Community Safe Room and approval of the abandonment of a public drainage easement and public utility easement on Lot 3A of the Huntsville Retail Center Subdivision. There will also be a first reading presentation of adoption of an ordinance to revise the boundaries of TIRZ #1.
The City Manager, Matt Benoit, or his staff, may file updates on various city activities.
The Council will also consider a request from Kendall Scudder for presentation, discussion and possible action to amend Ordinance 2014-33 on the proposed City Council Rules of Procedure.”
The council will also meet in closed session for discussions on legal matters.
