“Click-it or Ticket” Event Held at New Waverly High School

Published on May 15, 2014 by Larry Crippen

Wednesday at New Waverly High School Texas Agri-Life Extension Service, the Brazos Valley Injury Prevention Coalition and the Bryan District TxDOT held a “Click It or Ticket” event.

Walker County Sheriff’s Department Patrol Sergeant Ryan Ringo, New Waverly Firefighter and Paramedic Jimmy Williams and Precinct #4 Constable Gene Bartee spoke to a group of students about the dangers of texting while driving, not wearing seatbelts and intoxicated driving. A crashed truck exhibit was on display and a Distracted Driving Simulator was available for students. Other exhibits and safetey officials were on hand.

We asked Constable Gene Bartee about the advantages of wearing a seat belt . . . .

And something apropos for this time of the school year, Constable Bartee talked about driving and alcohol issues having to do with “prom night . . . .”
