At the regular Walker County Commissioners session this week, County Clerk Kari French addressed having an agreement with a Huntsville TDCJ Unit to have them clean and maintain the courthouse grounds.
She expressed her view about the current condition of the courthouse grounds . . . .
Ms. French said, “What TDCJ crews would come in to do is mowing, weedeating the proper way, cleaning up the shrubs, maintaining the flower beds once or twice a week to start to get it under control.” Ms. French said, “What they’re asking in return is that we feed them lunch on the days that they come.”
Commissioners approved the agreement. The way the crew will be fed and the way to pay for it will be researched. Having the crew work on the County’s Annex landscaping issues may be requested at the next session.
