County Election Officer Diana McRae informs us that there was a steady turnout during the first week of Early Voting. Her department expects increased numbers this week which is the last week of Early Voting at the Walker County Annex before Tuesday’s, March 4th, Primary Elections.
Friday at 5:00pm, they had a total of 1,020 voters that voted early during the first week of Early Voting. Ms. McRae encourages all voters across Walker County to come by and vote this week. Regardless of what precinct you live in, every registered voter in the County can conveniently vote at the Annex during Early Voting. However, if you wait to vote on Election Day, March 4th, you must vote in the voting precinct you’re registered in. If anyone has any questions about where they are registered, where they will vote on Election Day or how they can obtain a sample ballot, they can call the Voter Registration/Election Department at (936) 436-4959 or come by Room 114 at the Annex.
As always, one of the acceptable photo IDs is required for voting in Texas.
