Entergy Texas Helps Local Communities

Published on July 15, 2014 by Larry Crippen

You know summer has arrived when Entergy Texas, Inc. sets out to help customers “Beat the Heat” by giving away fans to help many of them stay more comfortable during Southeast Texas’ sweltering summer.

The popular program is in its 14th year and assists low-income residents via the provision of 1,300 box fans set for delivery to charitable, nonprofit agencies throughout areas served by Entergy Texas.

In Entergy Texas’ more western areas, fan deliveries will begin July 15th and continue through July 18th. One-hundred-forty will be divided in the Huntsville area between the Good Shepherd Mission and locations in Corrigan and Trinity, while 170 fans will be shared in the Conroe area by the Montgomery County Emergency Assistance organization and the Assistance League’s Fans for Friends.

Also, the Entergy Charitable Foundation has given $5,000 to an organization that assists HISD teachers.

The donation will be used by the Huntsville Education Foundation for financial assistance for projects in the district.
