Gambling Operation Busted In Huntsville

Published on October 13, 2014 by Larry Crippen

A gambling operation was busted in Huntsville this past week at the Exxon station on the corner of Avenue M and 11th Street.

We talked with Walker County Sheriff’s Department Operations Bureau Captain Tim Whitecotton Friday, who told us the Sheriff’s Department “started having people call us to give us information about it four to six months ago.”

He said the store had eight-liner games available.

He said people “were exchanging their winnings for cash.”

Captain Whitecotton said they didn’t make any arrests at this time. He said, “The investigation is ongoing and we’re going to refer it to the District Attorney’s office.”

Officer Whitecotton said they “did seize the motherboards that were part of the video games, and that’s when the company that owned the games came and picked them up.”
