HISD boardmembers and local citizens met for another bond package planning session at Huntsville Intermediate School last night.
Trustees presented eight separate bond package options to those attending. The options included taking no action to a package for $54 million that would take care of issues at several schools in the district.
One option that received a lot of attention encompasses the constuction of a new seventh and eighth grade campus with an auditorium option, improvements to technology in the district and minor improvements to Huntsville Intermediate and Mance Park Middle Schools. The option would also include decommissioning Scott Johnson Elementary, Gibbs Elementary, and some of the older sections of Mance Park Middle School.
The next bond planning session is slated for Monday, February 17th, at the Hawkins Administration Building at 5:30 PM. At the meeting, they will consider recommendations and begin development of a proposition and review the fiscal implications of recommendations.
