At this week’s regular session of the Huntsville City Council, councilmembers voted approval for a Task Order for McClure and Browne Engineering and Surveying for the purpose of engineering design services for the Smith Hill Road 12-inch Waterline Replacement and Extension.
Director of Community and Economic Development Aron Kulhavy explained . . . .
The project had originally been approved in 2010 but was held back for logistic road issues and inaction. The project, estimated at around $400,000, would replace a 6-inch water line on Smith Hill between Old Madisonville and Thomason Street. Fire protection and availability of water in the area should improve as a result.
