Texas Ag Commissioner Todd Staples is down on a new proposal from the EPA that could hurt Texas consumers of electrical power.
Staples says, “The proposal that’s been introduced would attempt to lower carbon dioxide emissions by 30 percent from the country’s power plants . . . . ”
Commissioner Staples says, “Rural industries and communities could get hit hardest by this law.” He says, “Organizations like the American Farm Bureau Federation, as well as the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers” have expressed opinions on it. Staple says, “These two very different organizations both agree that this new rule will make energy prices rise in the agricultural industries.”
