President Barak Obama delivered his State of the Union address before a joint session of Congress last night. Facing a contentious Congress, he vowed to act on his own “wherever and whenever” he feels it is necessary.
He raised several personal intiatives. The president’s future initiatives included executive action to raise the minimum wage for new federal contracts, aiding the long-term unemployed in finding employment and expanding job-training programs. He will also work on bringing a minimum wage increase to all, increasing accessibility to early childhood education programs and overhauling immigration laws.
