TDCJ has responded to the media that they do not plan to change their lethal injection procedures despite the issues with an execution in Arizona.
According to a published report, a recent execution of a man in Arizona took a couple of hours when they used a particular two-drug protocol. Texas is reported to use a single dose of a sedative called pentobarbital.
TDCJ spokesperson Jason Clark said they have used the one drug in executions for 33 executions without complication.
In future months, ten inmates have scheduled executions.
