There are severe issues at VA hospitals across the country. Now under fire, VA Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki says he has plans to fix the problems.
At this week’s House Veterans Affairs Committee hearing in Washington, both Democratic and Republican committee members fired questions at VA Administration officials like assistant deputy undersecretary for health at the VA, Thomas Lynch, and the VA’s assistant secretary for legislative affairs Joan Mooney. It all centered on the veterans not getting the care they needed.
Thomas Lynch said that the wait lists the committee was focusing on had been destroyed because they were an “intermediate work product.”
Indiana Republican Representative Jackie Walorski expressed the frustration in the VA hearing experienced by both Republican and Democratic committee members alike . . . .
Secretary Shinseki was scheduled to speak before the National Coalition of Homeless Veterans today in Washington.
