Community Impact reports that as of earlier this month TxDOT had half-a-dozen construction projects going on in Willis, Montgomery and Conroe.
Highway 105 will be reconstructed and widened, going from two to four lanes. The project is underway through the third quarter of 2027 between 10th Street in Conroe and Loop 336. The cost will be $51.83 million. It’s 15 percent completed.
FM 1097 in Willis will be widened from two to four lanes between Lake Conroe Hills Drive and Blueberry Hills Road. It will include a continuous left-turn lane. Construction is underway through the first quarter of 2024 at a cost of $16.09 million. It’s 31 percent completed.
FM 1486 will be under overlay and base repair work from Highway 105 to FM 1774 in Montgomery. Construction is underway and will be completed in the third quarter of 2024 at a cost of $4.57 million. It’s 1 percent completed.
FM 2854 will see overlaying and new turn lanes added between Highway 105 and the San Jacinto River. The project is underway through the first quarter of 2024 and will cost $10.41 million. It’s 93 percent completed.
Highway 242 is being widened between FM 1488 and I-45, including intersection restriping. The project is underway through the first quarter of 2026 at a cost of $28.67 million. It’s 5 percent completed.
FM 1488 will have a raised median added between Mostyn Drive in Magnolia and I-45 in Conroe. The project is underway through the fourth quarter of 2025 at a cost of $10.22 million. It’s 26 percent completed.
