At this week’s regular Huntsville City Council session, councilmembers looked at approving a resolution in support of an application to the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for a 9% housing tax credit to fund a rehabilitation of MillPond Living at Huntsville, formerly Cedarwood, at 2201 Bobby K. Marks Drive.
Regarding the agenda item, Ward #3 Councilmember Anissa Antwine asked, “What measures will be taken to insure the current residents are not displaced during the rehabilitation process?”
City Director of Development Services, Kevin Byal, announced that, “We have an applicant here that can answer that.”
Lisa Vecchietti with Fish Pond Development passed along to Councilmember Antwine:
It’s a multi-family development. Ms. Vecchietti talked about the development being “currently affordable and has been since it was built in 1970.”
