Community Impact recently passed along an update on TxDOT’s three widening projects underway for Conroe and Willis.
Between 10th Street and South Loop 336 in Conroe, project widening is underway for Highway 105 from two to four lanes. The contractor is the James Construction Group.
According to a February update from TxDOT, the work is 20 percent completed. Construction continues through the third quarter of 2027 at a cost of 51.83 million. It is state funded.
Between Lake Conroe Hills Drive and Blueberry Hill Road, FM 1097 widening is underway in Willis from two to four lanes. A continuous left lane will be included.
This month TxDOT reported it’s 34 percent completed. Construction will continue through the first quarter of 2024 at a cost of $16.09 million. It is federally funded. Again, the contractor is James Construction Group.
Highway 242 between I-45 and FM 1488 is being widened. The contractor is Posillico Civil Incorporated. TxDOT reports this month that the project is 8 percent completed. Construction will continue through the first quarter of 2026 at a cost of $28.67 million. It is federally funded.
