You may be familiar with the Walker County Office of Emergency Management Mobile App.
If you haven’t downloaded it, it would be a good idea to do so as it provides a myriad of important information details to local citizens. It’s available for download on the Walker County Office of Emergency Management Facebook page.
This week, Emergency Management Coordinator Butch Davis addressed the county commissioners court about the app.
Mr. Davis passed along some of the important features the app offers.
He said another beneficial feature is the water level information derived from the Trinity River Gauge and the closest gauge on Bedias Creek. The cost is $8,000 a year. They’ve committed to two years and are looking to get a payment in on time for a third year.
The number of times the app is referred to among local citizens is high. Deputy Coordinator Sherri Pegoda told the court, “From January to April 1st, there’s been almost 800,000 views on the app.”
