At the heart of this mission is the University Police Department (UPD), an organization deeply embedded in the campus community and dedicated to providing exemplary service. SHSU’s UPD was recently reaccredited by the Texas Police Chiefs Association (TPCA), demonstrating the department’s efforts to uphold the highest standards in law enforcement.
With more than 2,700 law enforcement agencies across Texas, only 219 have achieved TPCA accreditation, placing SHSU in an elite category of departments committed to best practices.
