Educational Results Partnership (ERP), a non-profit organization that applies data science to accelerate student success, has released the 2024 Honor Roll list of Texas top performing schools. This is the tenth year that ERP has completed the Honor Roll, which recognizes top public schools, school districts and charter schools that have outperformed their peers in closing achievement gaps, particularly among higher-poverty and historically disadvantaged student populations.
This year 762 schools and 63 school districts in Texas made the Honor Roll. This is approximately 12 percent of eligible schools and 9 percent of eligible school districts in the state.
Conroe ISD was one of the 63 school districts to earn the distinction, while 10 schools made the list. The schools are Collins Intermediate, Mitchell Intermediate, Tough Elementary, Hailey Elementary, David Elementary, Galatas (GAUL-uh-tus) Elementary, Reaves Elementary, Stewart Elementary, Bradley Elementary, and Suchma (SUEK-muh) Elementary.
ERP’s Board Chair Dan Kinney, said, “The Honor Roll recognizes high-performing schools where students are learning the fundamental skills employers demand.” He said, “ERP is proud to recognize these schools, and we want to learn about their best practices for teaching the fundamental skills of reading, writing and math.”
The program is part of a national effort to engage business leaders in recognizing successful schools and educational systems and promoting best practices that improve student outcomes. Honor Roll schools are recognized for demonstrating consistently higher levels of student achievement, improvement in achievement over time, and a reduction in achievement gaps among student populations.
ERP’s Chief Executive Officer James Lanich (LAN-ick), Ph.D. said, “The goal of the Honor Roll program is to use data to find and highlight successful schools and encourage collaboration among educators on best practices for raising student achievement.”
This year’s Honor Roll is being presented in collaboration with the Texas Business Leadership Council.
