The Huntsville City Council held a public hearing to receive comments on zoning district and development code changes Tuesday. Most citizen speakers were opposed to the proposed change. Speaker Ben Bius expressed pro and con views. Walter Berner wanted stronger ordinances and enforcement.
Local citizen Marion Wagamon was concerned about the rapidity of the zoning study and the early 5:30 time slot for the council meeting.
She also commented:
Former mayor, Bill Green, addressed the council on the proposed zoning.
Director of Development Services Kevin Byal passed along to those in attendance.
The council also had a “First Reading” on the agenda item following the hearing.
