At the last Huntsville City Council session the council considered a Fixed Base Operation lease with Huntsville Aviation at the Bruce Brothers Huntsville Regional Airport and authorizing the city manager to enter into a fixed base operation agreement for the airport property pending finalization of metes and bounds of the identified hangers and terminal building.
In addressing the council, Airport Manager Layne Yeager told councilmembers about recent changes to the lease agreement initially talking about shortening the length of the agreement and referring to an airport map councilmembers had access to . . . .
The backup to the council agenda says that the operator agrees to terminal building improvements at an estimated value of $80,000 and a self- service aviation fueling facility at an estimated value of $350,000. The city gets a fuel flowage fee of $.05 cents per gallon. The operator pays a rental fee of $.015 per square foot yearly for the area covered by the agreement.
A motion was made to not require shower facilities in the agreement and the council approved finalization on the lease agreement.
