Huntsville Youth Football League

Online registration is underway for the fall season of the Huntsville Youth Football League. The online registration will continue through July 1. Bearkat Football 2017 Season Tickets Now Available

March 16 - August 31

Season tickets for the upcoming season of SHSU Bearkat football are now on sale – and all 2016 season-ticket holders receive 1st priority to renew their same seat. Obtaining season tickets also guarantees priority to purchase your same seat for any NCAA playoff games hosted at Bowers Stadium, and guarantees the opportunity to purchase a like amount of tickets for the FCS national championship game. SHMM Exhibit- State Fair

April 5 - May 5

The Sam Houston Memorial Museum is currently offering an exhibit called “State Fair.” The exhibit comes from the Dolph Briscoe Center for American History at the University of Texas at Austin – and highlights photographer Arthur Grace’s journey through 10 state fairs. Blood Drive

SHSU- National Book Awards Festival

SHSU will host the “National Book Awards Festival” beginning at 7pm April 24. The event will take place in the ballroom of the Lowman Student Center on the university campus. Authors who will be featured include Rep. John Lewis, Andrew Aydin & Nate Powell. Ignite the Night Rally & March

April 26 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

As part of the commemoration of April as “Sexual Assault Awareness Month,” SHSU invites you to its “Ignite the Night” rally & march. The event is set for 7pm April 26 at the Lowman Student Theatre on the university campus – and will feature speakers and a walk to the Walker County Courthouse in downtown Huntsville to raise awareness about sexual assault. SHSU- Hairspray

SHSU’s Department of Theatre & Musical Theatre is bringing the ony Award-winning hit musical “Hairspray” to the Erica Starr Theatre on the university campus. Performances – directed by Broadway choreographer Greg Graham – will take place daily at 8pm April 26-29, with a matinee performance set for 2pm April 29. 2017 Sam Houston Film Festival

SHSU Mass Communication students will have the opportunity to showcase their original cinematic works during the 2017 Sam Houston Film Festival which is set for 7pm April 27. The event will take place in the Dance Theatre of the Gaertner Performing Arts Center on the university campus.
