SHSU Dept. of Art Photography Exhibit

September 28 - October 1

SHSU’s Department of Art invites you to its photography exhibition highlighting the work of the department’s graduates of the 1970s. The art is currently being exhibited in the downtown Satellite Gallery on University Avenue in Huntsville. Admission is free. The exhibition will continue through Oct. 1. 42nd Annual Fair On The Square

The Huntsville-Walker County Chamber of Commerce will host its 42nd annual “Fair on the Square” Oct. 1 in downtown Huntsville. Booth spaces are sold out, but interested parties may have their name included on a “waiting list” in case spaces become available.  The official “kick-off dance” is set for Sept. 30 in downtown, featuring Jerrett Zoch & the O-S-R Band. Spinning & Weaving Demonstration

In conjunction with Huntsville’s annual Fair-on-the-Square weekend, the Sam Houston Memorial Museum will host a “Spinning & Weaving Demonstration” from 10am-2pm Saturday. National Night Out

Fall Farmers Market

Joan Prouty Conference on Early Literacy

SHSU will host the annual “Joan Prouty Conference on Early Literacy.” The event is set for 8:30am-3:15pm Oct. 8. The conference is designed for elementary educators interested in literacy in a multilingual context. Guest speakers are scheduled along with a day full of sessions. Registration is $35 for SHSU students – $75 for others. The registration fee pays for breakfast, lunch and all materials.
