Bryan and Tracy wake up Huntsville and Southeast Texas, weekday mornings on 101.7 KSAM!  They start your day on a patriotic and positive note with our national anthem at 6:00am, the pledge of allegiance led by local students at 7:00am and, inspirational stories, interviews with community leaders, and a few chuckles to make you smile.  KSAM News Director Larry Crippen brings local news headlines, and the Voice of the Hornets and Bearkats, Carlos Zimmermann has the latest local sports update.  It’s a great way to start your day!

Bryan Reeder is a 7th generation Texan.  His 3rd Great grandfather, John Hobson fought at San Jacinto and is depicted in the painting, “The Surrender of Santa Anna”.   He’s been in Texas radio since 1994, on the air in Lufkin/Nacogdoches, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Llano/Marble Falls, and Waco/Temple/Killeen.  Bryan was a part of KAVX Lufkin’s internationally recognized news coverage (simulcast nationally in Israel) of the Space Shuttle Columbia Disaster, winning the NRB Station of the Year.  Bryan believes the primary purpose for any radio station is to be a voice for the community it serves.  Bryan has degrees in Radio/Television Broadcasting, Business Management, and in 2021, earned his Master’s in Management and Leadership.

Along with hosting the Wake-Up Morning Show on KSAM, Bryan also serves as HEH Communications Operations Manager and Program Director.  Bryan also consults on radio operations for a half-dozen other stations throughout Texas…under the strict supervision of his Chief of Security, Rebel the Chiweenie.  Bryan and Ms. Judy have been married for 36 years and have four grown children, two daughters-in-love, three grand dogs, and a grand canary. (No grandchildren yet, but nagging as often as possible.)

Tracy Downey is the co-host of The KSAM Wake-Up Morning Show.  Tracy covers country and entertainment news.  Tracy is a 49er fan and has had a stern talking to.  She has a strange obsession  with mushrooms and fake meat.  She is paid to laugh at Bryan’s dumb jokes…

Larry Crippen is a staple in Southeast Texas news.  The long-time Journalist and News Director of 101.7 KSAM can be heard daily during the Wake-Up Morning Show with local news updates at 6:35am, 7:00am, 7:35am, and 8:00am.  He like peanut butter sandwiches and long walks on the beach…

Carlos Zimmermann is the Voice of the Huntsville Hornets and the Sam Houston Bearkats.  You can hear his daily Sports Report during the KSAM Wake-Up Morning Show at 7:50am.  He hopes to be adopted by DeMeco Ryans, he doesn’t like grits, and his spirit animal is the Andes Chinchilla.  He is — the Z Man!
